Statement of Belief

Transformation Jackson is a movement of God among Christians in Metropolitan Jackson united in faith and common purpose. We believe in the power of God to transform all circumstances: cities, lives, relationship and families through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the collective mission of His body, the church.

We affirm our common faith as stated in The Apostle’s Creed, which is the oldest and simplest creed of the Church, and is accepted by all Christian traditions as the standard of doctrine:

We believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

We believe that in the community in which we live the Church has not focused enough on the social implications of the gospel. Therefore, we also affirm these key principles from the Lausanne Covenant’s Christian Social Responsibility statement:

We believe that God is both the Creator and the Judge of all men. We therefore share His passion for justice and reconciliation throughout our society and will work for the liberation of men and women from every kind of oppression

We believe our salvation should transform us in our person and social responsibilities, proving that "faith without works is dead."
